Dive Experience

Mrs Jenna Mackay - Year 10 Dean —

Nga Tuahine is a group of female students who meet every Friday at lunchtime. On Tuesday 1 June, the group got to experience scuba diving at Dive Zone Tauranga.

The girls recap their experience:

"Very grateful for the opportunity. We were in full gear and we had to learn how to breathe with the equipment. I made the mistake of trying to breathe through my nose! It was weird and fun and I highly recommend it!"    Te Puawai Rogers Hall Y13
"It was sore on my ears, to begin with, so I had to equalise a lot. It was really cool I loved it - especially being underwater." Lukah Rowling Y11
"It was a great experience! It took me out of my comfort zone. I got into a tricky situation without my regulator so I had to remain calm, find it and put it back again. It taught us independence, leadership and confidence." Ariana Taute Y11
"I just loved the whole thing!" Tia Te-Riini Y9
"I enjoyed it and I'd go again!" Teliyah Marsden-Roberts Y9

In Term 4 these girls will snorkel around Leisure Island with the same crew from Dive Zone Tauranga.

What a great opportunity!
