Pride Week

Mr Nicholas McCartin - Kaiako / Teacher —

There was plenty of fun and colour around the school as students celebrated Pride Week in June.

Pride Week is a National Schools' event celebrated from Monday 13 - Friday 17 June 2022.

Our school GSA organised activities at lunchtime' throughout the week. We had a scavenger hunt to find the rainbow hearts, face painting, chalk artwork, and mufti day with karaoke on Friday.

The mufti-day raised  $1,182.80. Proceeds will go toward Rainbow Youth. Rainbow Youth is an organisation providing support, information, resources & advocacy for Aotearoa’s queer, gender diverse, takatāpui and intersex youth.

Year 7 student Riley Davison's fantastic outfit pictured above, was also featured in this Bay of Plenty Times article about our college mufti day and the devasting fire that gutted the Historic Villages' Rainbow Youth drop-in Center.
