Keeping Healthy

Mr Steve Lindsey - Principal —

The recent community cases of covid19 in New Zealand are a really good reminder for us to make sure we are vigilant about maintaining high standards of hygiene. The following information still applies for all personnel on campus:

  • Visitors must scan the QR code using the app which is easily found all over campus
  • Visitors will also need to sign in at Reception
  • Hand sanitiser is available for people to use
  • If you are sick stay home
  • Sneezes and coughs should be directed into an elbow or in a disposable tissue
  • Wash hands with soap regularly and avoid touching your face

If there are any cases that affect the school then we will obviously communicate this information to the Papamoa College community. After this, we will go through a process of deep cleaning and mostly likely temporarily close the school. These decisions are made by the Health Authorities and the Ministry of Education.

With respect to the upcoming NCEA external exams, we are putting measures in place to spread out students while they complete their exams. This meets NZQA exam regulations but also allows us to respond quickly should there be a change in alert levels.

The government covid19 website is still the best place to gain up to date and relevant information.

Please contact the school should you have any questions or queries.

As stated before we all have a responsibility to remain vigilant and maintain a high standard of hygiene at all times.
