Associate Principal - Mr Pere Durie
Kia ora Pāpāmoa whānau. My name is Pere Durie and I am the Associate Principal here at the College.
The school year has started well. Despite the damp summer we have had, it has been pleasing to see students out and about in a wide range of activities. They have been engaged in their learning, camps, performances, sports and more. Our first full school athletics was a great day where students ran, jumped and threw but more importantly came together to challenge themselves and each other.
This event helped launch our Mana Waka competition which sees the school compete against each other in four different Waka. Competition is one way that our students can embrace challenge. This is important because challenges are what helps our young people to grow and develop character, strength and integrity. This year we have challenged our students to raise their standards in all areas. This has been a challenge in itself but we all believe that by raising our expectations, we can truly realise our potential.
