Mark Weedon 1968 - 2021

Mr Steve Lindsey | Principal —

Sadly Mark Weedon who was a much loved, respected and valued teacher at Papamoa College, passed away on Saturday 7 August, 2021.

Over the last two years, he had been a regular relief teacher and just recently became a full-time year 7&8 teacher in the Lower Middle School.

Despite having only been part of our learning community for a relatively short period of time, his loss will be felt deeply throughout the school and within the community.

A reflection room was set up on campus for students, staff, friends and whanau to remember Mark and share what he meant to us as well as leaving messages of Aroha.

The school was also privileged to be able to farewell Mark and honour his whanau by taking part in a drive past at the front of the school before the funeral.

Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to Mark's whanau and close friends. You are all in our thoughts.

Thank you Mark for the time that you spent with us here at Papamoa College. You will always remain in our hearts and your influence will continue for a long time to come, even though we won't see your smiling face every day.

Steve Lindsey
Principal
