Student Volunteer Army

Mrs Kylie Price - Acting Deputy Principal —

Papamoa College has joined the Student Volunteer Army (SVA). This is a nationwide initiative that started from the Christchurch Earthquakes in 2011 when the University students wanted to help out.

Papamoa College Senior students (Y11 - 13) are signing up to help! Seniors will log their hours on the SVA website and in turn, will be able to print a summary of service and gain badges as they log their hours. Students pathway teachers and CSS teachers will help to track their hours and help with finding places to volunteer to build their community hours.

The first pin (Blue) is awarded after 5 hours logged

The Bronze pin is awarded after 32 hours logged

The Silver pin is 250 hours

Gold pin is 500 hours.

Every year we also award a green pin to the student who has volunteered the most hours. The summary of service is a great tool to print out when applying for jobs, polytech or universities as it is recognised nationwide.

Our latest recipients are as follows.

1x bronze (30 hours), silver (250 Volunteer hours) and gold pin (500 volunteer hours) for Shuari Naidoo

(Papamoa College's FIRST gold pin receiver!)

Bronze Pins - 30 hours or more
