Head Student - Hannie Mastny

Hannie Mastny - Head Student —

Kia Ora Koutou, my name is Hannie Mastny and I am proud to say that I am one of the head students here at Pāpāmoa College for 2022.

Back when I started my journey here in year 7, I used to look at all the seniors in awe and would be so excited to be a big kid one day. 7 years later, I am in year 13 looking back at my journey here at Pāpāmoa College. I am so grateful that I have been given so many opportunities and new exciting experiences through the years. If it weren't for my amazing peers, teachers, Whānau, and the courage that this school has built for me, I wouldn't have been where I am today.

Throughout my time here at Pāpāmoa College, I have made many strong relationships with both my peers and teachers, and have had the privilege of watching the school grow incredibly in every aspect. During my time here I think I have nearly played every sport the school has to offer. From starting table tennis and becoming the Bay Of Plenty Table Tennis Champion to playing some of my favourite sports like Volleyball and Netball every year. As well as many others, I wouldn't have been able to find my passion for sport without all the opportunities and great sports the school has had to offer.

However, due to covid all of this has been slowed down. My goals now for 2022 are to encourage safe and constant activity to make it as normal as possible, as well as to instil and grow a positive and proud culture for the students at Pāpāmoa College.

I would like to create a strong sense of belonging and pride in our school and community, as well as uphold the values of the school. I would love for all students of all year levels to be proud of who they are and proud of their school and community. I can't wait to be working alongside Phoebe, Spence, and Cam this year to create this environment and to achieve our goals.
