Knitting Club

Hana Everill Y9 —

Every Tuesday lunchtime in Tatahi Learning Commons there is a club for students who can go and chat and learn how to knit. This is available to all students and you don’t have to know the first thing about knitting to join.

The wool and needles are all provided (from kind donations) but it would be great if you could bring your own too. You just need to turn up with an open mind. We can teach you everything you need to know, from casting on to casting off. We knit squares that are made into blankets, then sent overseas to people in need. The students who bring in squares for blankets may be able to go on a trip each year to see where these blankets go. Also did you know that knitting improves memory and it is actually a therapeutic activity? It’s not just about the what you make, it’s about what you’ve learnt. We can’t wait to see you on Tuesday!
