Hi, my name is Zane Gibbs and I’m one of your Deputy Head Students for 2020. I have been a student here at Papamoa College since I was a year seven. Throughout my time here, I have been given so many awesome opportunities that have bettered both my learning and my leadership and I am excited to be giving back to the school in this role. I have been able to watch this school grow and grow, and along with the other Head Students, I am working on ways to create the biggest school culture ever, as well and get everyone more involved this year.

As a Deputy Head Student I have a lot of ambitions and ideas that I would love to implement within the school. One of my biggest ambitions is to continue to involve students in lunchtime participation. This way we are giving them a well earned brain break as well as creating a fun and fulfilling culture around the school. I plan to do this by making lunchtime sport every two weeks so that students at our school can continue to get involved.

As the year goes on, the other Head Students and myself will continue the great work of  previous Head Students. I would like to also give other leaders and students more opportunity to have their say in our school. This way we can pave the way for more future student leaders.
