The Tauranga Art Gallery hosted the inaugural Acorn Foundation Junior Art Awards. The theme for the 2021 Art Awards was Te Taiao | Nature. 

Eight of our talented Y8 - Y10 Art students (pictured below) were selected as finalists for the awards and Lily Smith 9MOT1 won the Friends of Tauranga Art Gallery Award with the stunning image above; a pencil drawing with digital colouring entitled Papatuanuku.

Congratulations to the finalists: Eden Brickell Y9, Novella Heywood Y9,  Kiera Smith Y9, Lily Smith Y9, Alexis Taepa Y8, Maddison Taepa Y9, Alex Tilby-Adams Y9 and Brianna Jeffrey Y10.

The exhibition will be on display at the Tauranga Art Gallery from 3 April until 2 May, a worthwhile holiday activity to go and see!
