A massive congratulations to Year 8 student Cybele Chapman who has won an amazing opportunity to perform her own original song with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra!

NZSO Young Artists Showcase: Singer-songwriters

This competition was open to secondary school students who wanted the opportunity to perform an original song with the backing of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. 4 students were chosen across Aotearoa. They will have their songs arranged for Orchestra to be performed at a showcase in Wellington this August.

Cybele is also part of our school band Protocol which has been selected for recording by the Youthtown Songwriting Competition.

Youthtown Songwriting Competition Aotearoa 2022

This competition was open to Years 9-11students. The lyrics needed to be around the students being our youth and our future and about them and their world. 

In each of 3 national regions, around 20 finalists were chosen to record their songs in a professional studio to go on the 2022 Youthtown Songwriting Competition album.

Our school band PROTOCOL has been selected with their song Apocalypse.
