Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu – National Volunteer Week
Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu – National Volunteer Week honours the collective energies and mana of volunteers in Aotearoa. They grow our people, open minds, open hearts and create joy.
National Volunteer Week ran from June 18–24 June. This year’s theme was 'He wā pīataata' – Time to shine!
Here at Pāpāmoa College, we have over 200 volunteers ranging from staff, parents/caregivers and students that give up their valuable time and energy for our tamariki involved in sports. Roles vary from coaching, managing and umpiring, and they all play a vital part within our sports community.
We are most grateful for the valuable time all of our volunteers give up to help run our sports programmes effectively. In appreciation and recognition, we drew out four names to win vouchers for The Island Papamoa.
Voucher winners were:
- Jade Humphrey - 1st XI Girls Football Assistant Coach
- Carly Webster - 2nd XI Boys Hockey Manager
- John Lea - Table Tennis Coach
- Claire Mulcahy - Squash TIC/Manager
Kia ora rawa atu! Big thanks, volunteers!
