yia! Award Winner
Congratulations to Year 8 student Layla Clarke who won the People's Choice Award and placed second in the Intermediate Category at this year's Young Innovator Awards (yia!) Evening on Wednesday 6 September.
Layla developed an Emotional Attendance App that allows you to check in and mark your emotions at school during attendance each day. Layla received $750 for Second Place and $200 for the People's Choice Award!
Well done also to Brooke Barry (Y12) who was also selected as a finalist for her Driveway Worm in the Senior Section:
yia! is a great opportunity for Year 7-13 WBOP students to apply innovation through collaboration and come up with an idea to make the world a better place. It is about creating tomorrow’s innovators in local schools and preparing our future workforce with the skills they need to compete in a rapidly changing work environment.
