World Record Catch

PC SPORT —

Congratulations to Olive Armistead Y8 who has been awarded two world records by the International Game Fishing Association (IGFA) for a large trout she caught while fishing in the South Island late last year.

Olive landed this impressive 8.61 kg (18lb and15oz) rainbow trout to set both the IGFA Women’s 3kg (6lb) Line Class and Female Junior records for the species.

Olive was fishing in the Ohau River in Twizel, New Zealand when this huge rainbow took the lure she was casting. She made quick work of the fish and was able to net it after a 5-minute fight. The proper information was recorded, and the fish was safely released back into the river.

Congratulations Olive on an unforgettable catch and an amazing record.
