Commemorating the 50th anniversary of te Petihana Reo Māori. Rāhina/Monday 12 -18 Mahuru/September is Te Wiki o te Reo Māori/ Māori Language Week.

This year Māori language week is extra special as 14 September marks the 50th anniversary of the Māori Language Petition, an event that led to many of the kaupapa we have today, including Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.

The college is putting together a range of activities to test and celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori.

Staff and Student language challenges will be sent out to Admin classes each day, and daily Kīwaha (idioms or informal phrases) will be taught each day.

Our college encourages all to continue to celebrate and use Te Reo Māori every day, big or small.
