Awhina House works to nurture, support and advocate for homeless women in Tauranga Moana. The year 10 textile class has been busy developing 'bathroom bags' to donate to this great cause.

Working with the idea of 'Sewing to Learn', rather than the more traditional 'Learning to Sew' focus, the students gain a better understanding of how they can contribute positively to their local community, along with the myriad of skills required from design to construction of a functional product.

We are seeking donations of bathroom products (e.g. toothpaste, shampoo etc) to fill these bags so they can be donated as gifts for women leaving their temporary home at Awhina. 

If you have any donations to this worthy cause, please leave them at the College Reception at the start of term 2.
