KNIT-A-SQUARE Year 7-8

Gagandeep Kaur Y8 —

Last year, Lucy (Lucy Pratt Y8) and I, and a group of Year 7-8 students chose to do knit-a-square as part of Citizenship. We had to learn how to knit squares, which would then be sewn into blankets. These blankets would be donated to someone who needed it for winter.

We did this to help others in need. We managed to knit enough squares for one blanket. This year one of our teachers (Mrs Smith) was able to sew the squares together and we delivered our blanket to the Salvation Army Family Shop at Fashion Island.

Hopefully, our creation will make an impact on someone. Although it was hard learning to knit, it was a fun experience, which we will never forget.

This photo is of myself and Lucy, with our blanket and Peter from the Family Store at Fashion Island.
