Attendance & Absences

Pāpāmoa College —

Students are expected to attend school every weekday throughout the term, from 8.35am to 3.00pm (except for later starts on Wednesdays at 8.55am)

Student attendance will be recorded, for every block, throughout the school day. Any absence or lateness to class will be recorded.

If your child is going to be absent or late to school, parent/caregivers need to phone Reception as soon as possible on 542 0676 and press 1 to explain the reason. If the absence is not phoned through then the parent/caregiver will receive a text or phone call from Reception to check the absence.

Known future absences from school for any medical or family reason should be advised by parents/caregivers in advance whenever possible.

Appointments during the school day:
If students have an appointment which means they will arrive late or have to leave during the day, please leave a message on the absentee line to authorise the student to sign out and provide a written note to be shown to a learning commons teacher/admin teacher.
