Gateway Programme

Mrs Bronwin Severinsen - Careers Coordinator —

To help with their career choices, students are offered training opportunities outside the classroom through the Gateway Programme.

Gateway is a nationwide initiative designed to strengthen student pathways from school to the workplace.

How it works:

Placements run for 10-20 weeks.

Students spend one day a week doing what is required in that workplace.

The placement day is decided by the workplace in consultation with the school and student.

There is no remuneration, this is a ‘work experience opportunity’.

At Papamoa College, we work hard to establish a ‘right fit’ for participating students and employers.
