Our Level One Outdoor Education students had an amazing time at camp from Wednesday 22- Friday 24 March.

The Level 1 OED camp included surfing in Whangamata, kayaking into Whenuakura Island/Donut Island and swimming off Hauturu Island. 

The third day was a boat trip with Orca Wilderness Adventures to Tūhua/Mayor Island where students were joined by pods of dolphins and got to experience snorkelling in the clear pristine waters surrounding Tūhua. 

Whilst kayaking our group came to the aid of someone in trouble giving three of our Year 11 student Lifeguards,  Sam Clark, Ryan Teixeira and Hannah Edwards some real life-saving experience.  See this Facebook post for details on what happened. Well done to the Teachers and Students involved!
