The Papamoa College Production "Alice in Wonderland" has set NEW dates for you all to come along and be extremely entertained by our students.

Sadly Mark Weedon who was a much loved, respected and valued teacher at Papamoa College, passed away on Saturday 7 August, 2021.

Our time in Lockdown, although challenging for many, has also brought out some amazing creations from our students. Many unexpected, insightful and humbling work has been posted on the Papamoa College Visual Arts Instagram page as a result.

NCEA Derived Grade Exams for all Year 11, 12 and 13 students were due to take place over weeks 8 and 9 of this term, 17 September – 24 September. Due to Covid Alert Level Restrictions these exams have been POSTPONED, with new dates to be advised once we have clarity over future Alert Levels.

Huge congratulations to Year 11 student Emily Carter, who competed as a member of the New Zealand Artistic Swimming Team in the FINA International Open. The team placed third with both of their outstanding entries!

Unfortunately, the 2021 AIMS Games due to be held in Tauranga from 4 -10 September, was cancelled due to Covid Alert Level Restrictions.

Congratulations to PROTOCOL, a LMS band, who won Best Original Song at Bandquest on Monday 16 August with their song 'Apocalypse'.

The school board recently accepted a proposal from The Ministry of Education to amend the College zone, following their review of the Mount Maunganui and Papamoa school enrolment schemes.

Five of our students spent the morning of Thursday 12 August at the 2021 MITO 'SpeedMeet' held at Mount Maunganui College.

On Friday 6 August our Ngatuahine rōpū welcomed guest speaker, Becky Gray.

The college now offers free physio for students and staff.

During Term Three students, year 9 and above, are participating in Mates and Dates, a Healthy Relationships program, as part of our school curriculum.

We are seeking expressions of interest for music lessons in 2022.

Papamoa College Leos were over the moon at the result of students' fundraising efforts for this years' 40 Hour Famine .

In Term Two the Year 11 Outdoor Education students learnt mountain biking and self-management skills.

Des O’Leary, one of our regular relieving teachers released his second book, ‘Under the Radar’, at Papamoa College on Wednesday 28 July.

On Friday 2 July the Wairakei Learning Community Year 10 classes spent a day at Te Puna Quarry Park.

12 college students represented Western Bay of Plenty at the inaugural Toi Ohomai Youth Development Cup during the Term 2 school holidays on Thursday 22 July and Friday 23 July.

Each term we focus on one of four core values; Whanautanga - Relationships, Whai Whakaaro - Respect, Whai Kaha - Participation, and Whai Mana - Excellence.

Well done to the students who performed at the Tauranga Performing Arts Competition held at Baycourt on Friday 9 - Sunday18 July.

The Mufti Day held on Friday 25 June raised $1735.60 for the Good Neighbour Charity.
