Nominating Yourself

As you are on the electoral roll, you may nominate yourself and do not need to get someone else to nominate you.

The easiest way for you to complete your nomination is with the button above. For other methods, additional options are listed below. If you would like a nomination form in another language, please contact the Returning Officer.

Only one nomination will be accepted per candidate.

If you complete your nomination on the Election Pilot website, you do not need to send in a nomination form.

If you do not complete your nomination on the Election Pilot website you will need to return a completed nomination form to the Returning Officer before nomination close either by email or by returning it to the school office. Please ensure both parts of the nomination form are completed.

Candidate Statement

All candidates are able to submit an optional candidate statement of up to 400 words and a photo. Candidate statements MUST be received no later than 06 Aug 2025 at noon so that it can be sent to voters with the voting papers.

The returning officer may remove or edit any part of the candidate's statement if it exceeds 400 words or is offensive or defamatory.

Eligibility

Anyone can stand for election to the board, except for some exclusions. If you are not on the voting roll you must be nominated by a person who is. Please check information on who is NOT eligible as you will be required to declare that none of these exclusions apply to you when you complete the nomination form.

Completed Nomination forms can be returned in the following ways:

1. Online - Either with the Nominate Yourself button above, or this link: Nominate Yourself

Note: This is the easiest way to complete your nomination. You can also provide your candidate statement and photo at the same time, rather than sending them separately.

2. Email - nominations@electionpilot.nz.

3. Hand Delivery - Delivered to the school office during usual school hours.

4. Post - Election Pilot, PO Box 414, Christchurch 8140, New Zealand.

The nomination form MUST reach us before nominations close, and any nomination forms that arrive after the close of nomination cannot be accepted. We strongly recommend submitting your nomination via your election link.
