Welcome to the start of Term 3. I am looking forward to a solid term where our rangatahi consolidate their learning and make meaningful progress toward successful outcomes.

Term Dates
Monday 22 July - Friday 27 September. Please note there is a Staff Only Day on Friday 16 August as we continue to work with our primary and intermediate colleagues.

Timetables
Some students will have timetable changes. New timetables will be issued to students at Form Period on Monday. Students and caregivers can check changes before that via the SchoolBridge App or by signing in on the school website.

Phones Away All Day
A reminder that the use of mobile phones for students during school hours is not permitted at school. If parents need to urgently contact their child during the school day, they can contact the main office to have a message delivered to the student in class. For students who need to contact their whānau during the day, they can use the phone at the student office.

Toilets
Sadly, we hade a number of toilets destroyed and and damaged last term. Staff and students have found these acts to be especially distressing. If your young person has seen anything or has evidence of damage being done, please pass this on to me in confidence (principal@papanui.school.nz). It would also be helpful if you could remind them that if they are entering the toilet facilities as part of a large group, they may be asked as to their intent and/or asked to vacate the premises.

Last-minute payments need to be made by contacting the Year 13 Dean, Mrs Josie Welch urgently.

I am very much looking forward to the new term, welcoming our students back, and engaging with the numerous exciting events on the calendar.
