Sports News
Welcome back to Term 2 and the Winter Sport Season. Over the next couple of weeks 25 Papanui High School teams will begin their Winter Sport campaigns.
Week 1 of Term 2 saw our Saturday Basketball teams kick off their 2024 season, please see the results below:-
U17 Boys - 44-64 loss vs Lions
U15 Boys - 68-36 win vs North Canterbury Black
Our Boys 1st XI Football team also had their first game of the season narrowly going down to Christ’s College 2-1. The boys are playing in Connetics Schools Premier 1st XI Competition.
On Tuesday 14th May our Boys’ Rugby 1st XV will play their first game against Rangiora High School at 3.00pm at the Papanui Domain. The team is playing in the 2024 Brockbank Graves Trophy Competition which sees the majority of their games played on a Wednesday afternoon. The team has 3 home games and 2 away games in Darfield and Hokitika. This is very exciting for the school as it has been quite some time since Papanui High School has had a 1st XV Rugby Team.
Good luck boys and I am sure they would welcome your support.
