A group of Papanui alumni celebrated their 50 year reunion on Matariki weekend.

Friday evening festivities carried through to a Saturday morning tour of the school grounds. It was lovely to see and hear the reminiscing over the good old days and the pride that is still very deep-seated for these alumni. Past teacher Dennis McMurtrie was also on board to share the wonderful depth of knowledge and history that he holds of our kura. He surprised the group on the day with a special tree planting ceremony in the Papanui Bush. It really was a lovely occasion. The Papanui High School alumni network is well on its way to rebuilding and thriving. Watch this space.
