After a long absence, Papanui High School has reinstated its 1st XV Rugby Team.

Nobody can quite remember when Papanui High School last had a regular 1st XV team. Therefore, It was with some hesitancy that the call went out to see if there was any interest. The coaches were overwhelmed by the response and entered the team in the Brockbank Graves Trophy competition which pits West Coast teams against teams from Canterbury.

Our first outing was against Rangiora High School and the game was supported by a large contingent of students, parents and curious onlookers. Last week's game was a barnstorming effort against Greymouth High School, while next week the team takes on Darfield High School's 1st XV.
