Congratulations to the Papanui High School Concert Band for winning Gold and Big Band No.1 winning Silver at the Aurora Festival held at Burnside High School!

Leon Harman (lead trumpet in Big Band No.1) was also recognised with the award for outstanding leadership. 

The success doesn't stop here – in Week 10, the Concert Band, Big Band No.1, and Big Band No.2 will head to Wellington to compete in the National MEFA Music Festival. Big Band No.1 will also take the stage in the Jazz Band-it final, being one of only two South Island bands selected to compete. This incredible achievement is a testament to the talent, hard work, and dedication of Papanui High’s music students. Best of luck to all the performers at nationals!
