Celebrating Excellence at our Senior Prizegiving and Year 13 Graduation

Julia Walmsley —

On Monday evening, we celebrated our Senior Prizegiving and Year 13 Graduation, acknowledging the dedication, hard work, and remarkable achievements of our senior students.

The evening was filled with highlights, including performances from our kapa haka group, concert band, Waiatahi choir, and the big band. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem sung by Ella Grocott.

In addition to the outstanding performances, special awards were presented for academic excellence, leadership, community service, and sportsmanship. Each award reflects not only the individual achievements of our students but also the spirit of collaboration and dedication that is central to our school community. Our senior students’ success is a testament to their resilience, passion, and commitment to pursuing excellence.

Our Supreme Award winners included:

  • The Hugh McDougall Rankin Education Trust Award – Elizabeth Foot

  • Excellence in Practical Disciplines – Heilee Amonelo

  • Excellence in Humanities – Ethan Trumper

  • Analytical Excellence – Jayden Blackwell

  • Proxime Accessit – Maggie Peng

  • Dux – Elizabeth Foot

We extend our gratitude to our sponsors, The JB Johns Trust and BDL, HP, whose support helps make this celebration possible. Their contributions not only help cover the costs of the venue hire but also provide the financial awards that recognise the exceptional achievements of our students.

Congratulations once again to all our students for their hard work and dedication, and to our graduates as they embark on the next chapter of their journey.
