Kase Findlater, Maya Powell, and Emma Marshall
New Zealand Scholarship is an award that recognises top secondary school students. Top students in each subject are given the opportunity to do NZ Scholarship assessments in order to achieve this award.
The New Zealand Scholarship assessments are designed to challenge the most capable students in each subject. These assessments may take the form of written or spoken examinations, or the submission of a portfolio or report showcasing work produced throughout the year.
To achieve an NZ Scholarship, students must demonstrate a deep understanding of their subject, high-level critical thinking, and the ability to apply their knowledge to complex situations. These awards are highly competitive, with only 3% of students studying a subject at NCEA Level 3 attaining a passing grade. The top 1% of candidates receive an 'Outstanding' Scholarship.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the success of our 2024 NZ Scholarship recipients:
Margarette Erfe – Sculpture
Danielle Amonelo – Painting
Chloe Morrison-Clarke – Outstanding NZ Scholarship in Religious Studies
In an exceptional achievement, three of our students earned NZ Scholarship while still in Year 12:
Emma Marshall – Painting
Kase Findlater – (Digital) Technology
Maya Powell – English
Congratulations to these outstanding students, their families, and their teachers on this remarkable accomplishment!
