Kia ora koutou. Talofa. Kia Orana. Malo e lelei. Bula. Fakaalofa atu. Namaste and Kumusta. Warm greetings to our Papanui High School community.

It has been a busy and exciting start to the school year, with several events bringing our community together.

Last week, we held our Polyfest Information Night, giving our students and whānau an opportunity to connect and prepare for this year’s performances. The energy and enthusiasm from our Pasifika community were fantastic to see. We also welcomed many families to our Subject Meet & Greet Evening, where they had the chance to meet teachers, discuss course expectations, and strengthen the home-school partnership that is so vital to student success.

Last Friday, our school was filled with colour, energy, and community spirit as we celebrated Tira Day. It was fantastic to see students actively participating and enthusiastically embracing the day. Events like these are a great reminder of the importance of belonging and connection in our school.

As we settle into the routine of the school term, it’s pleasing to see how well our students are adjusting to the new timetable and Te Huinga classes. Change always comes with challenges, but our students are showing great adaptability.

On Monday evening, we held our first PTA meeting of the year, bringing together a committed group of parents and caregivers who play a vital role in supporting our school community. Their contributions make a real difference, and we appreciate their time and effort in helping to enhance the school experience for all students.

Finally, I want to congratulate our six students who achieved New Zealand Scholarship. These awards recognise the highest level of academic excellence, and I am incredibly proud of their achievements. This is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the support of their teachers and families.

It has been a great start to the year, and I look forward to all that is to come.
