House of Science

Miranda Sheppard —

This term our school has subscribed to The House of Science which means we can book their science kits to use in the class.

Established in 2020, the House of Science Christchurch branch has a vision to raise scientific literacy in the region. They aim to achieve that by resourcing and connecting the local science community. Teachers, students and the wider community can access their diverse programmes and educational materials, which include: A comprehensive science resource library for primary and intermediate schools and Teacher professional development.

The House of Science is a charitable trust which relies heavily on community support. This comes in many forms and they would love to hear from you if you are interested in any of the following:

• Volunteering (driving our delivery van, helping maintain resource kits, administration)

• Donating financially

• Sponsoring a resource kit

• Sponsoring a school membership
