Principal's Message

Paul Kingston —

We are living in challenging times. How we respond and act as adults provides a powerful example to our children.

One of our school's values is Aumangea - Resilience.

Resilience

Being Resilient is the capacity to cope with, and bounce back from challenging situations or hard times. The capacity to be resilient is in everyone. Resilience is built up in children by the significant adults around them developing the children’s connection to people, their competence in a range of skills, their character and confidence.

Basketball

The Year 3 and 4 Basketball started last night and the Papanui Phoenix had a good start with some good individual skills on display.  The team work will develop with practice and game time.

As a school we support the public health message

  • Vaccination is essential to get us back to some sort of normal
  • Use the Covid Tracer app
  • Follow Level 2 guidelines - for masking and distancing
  • Test if you feel unwell

The photo is my youngest granddaughter doing some hairstyling when I saw her in Auckland 9 weeks ago. We are both waiting for 90% vaccination rates so we can have more real time rather than just Facetime.

Keep safe this weekend.

Kia kaha te menemene - keep smiling
