Principal's message

Paul Kingston —

What a week of weather for the North Island. Like many of you, I have whānau in Auckland and Hawkes Bay so it has been unsettling to see the impact upon people and their communities.

In 2011, schools in Christchurch benefited from financial support the Red Cross provided.  The Red Cross are again setting up a donation scheme to support communities affected by the cyclone.  This is the link to the RED CROSS donation scheme.

To extend the school's aroha and tautoko (love and support) we will be having a GOLD COIN plain clothes or dress up day next Friday.  This will either go to the Red Cross fund or we may connect with a specific school.

Mihi Whakatau

Thank you to the whānau who supported us on Tuesday night. These will become a regular feature particularly as we welcome new tamariki and whānau to the school.

Big Day Out

We have had a positive start to the year.  The Big Day Out was a great day with perfect weather. We are very grateful for the fantastic support from our whānau with supervision and sausage sizzling. Once gain we received extremely positive feedback from pool staff about our children and their behaviour, and for our organisation and safety.

Stay Connected

SchoolApp alerts, Seesaw messaging and the website are the main ways we communicate the 'everyday business' of school.  We also have an Emergency Text system when needed.

It makes life easier when the communication is timely and clear (we try our best) and when it is read.

Kia kaha te menemene - keep smiling
