Interview with Ms Robertson

Ane and Jared —

Ms Robertson works in Kāhu teaching the year 5 and 6 students. She is the senior team leader and also one of the two Associate Principals.

What is the most valuable thing that you have learnt?

That everybody has their own problems, even if they look like everything is fine you never know what people are dealing with in private. So I guess that means it's really important to be kind to people all the time.

Tell us about your family.

I have 2 older brothers, 3 nephews, one daughter, 2 step children (boy/girl) and a partner.

What was your favourite part of school as a child?

Having a great teacher that I liked and made school and learning fun.

What were your hobbies when you were younger?

I did highland dancing for about 8 years, and I also loved to play netball.

What was your favourite thing to do as a child?

My best memories are going camping at Christmas with my extended family to Tōtaranui and visiting with family in Tākaka.

What is your favourite food?

That's a hard one, mostly savoury things but as a style of food probably Thai is my favourite.

What is your culture and where were you born?

I was born in Christchurch and I consider my self a Kiwi/New Zealander. I have English, Scottish and Irish heritage.

Do you have a favourite animal?

Not really but I do love dogs and I have 2 miniature schnauzers at home, Stella and Indie.

What is your favourite movie?

Thats a tie between 'Lilo and Stitch' and 'Dirty Dancing'.

What is your favourite drink?

I love ginger beer.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I didn't really know, sometimes I wanted to be a vet and sometimes a nurse.

What do you enjoy reading?

I read lots of different things and love to read a lot, especially in the holidays.  At the moment I am reading the Seven Sisters series.
