Scooters and bikes are a lot of fun but they are a device that require maintenance to keep them safe.

One particular safety issue that is common among scooters and bikes is the hand grips.  Children tend to drop their scooters on the path so over time the rubber grips wear away exposing the metal ends which can get quite sharp.

These sharp metal ends can be dangerous if a child falls awkwardly.  I have seen this first hand and in one instance a boy sustained a serious leg injury from bike handle bars.

With summer coming up and the holidays nearing it would be the perfect time to give your family's bikes and scooters a W.o.F. check.
