It's Cool to be Kind

Debbie Robertson —

We had a great show of pink for the end of our kindness week. During the week each class had a sharing and brain storming time to discuss what is like to return to school after being away for a week or more due to being sick or isolating at home with whānau.

Many children said they felt quite nervous returning and a little worried about what they might have missed out on.  As a result each class talked about ways to welcome back and support friends and classmates and also some helpful things for the returnee to do and say also.

We hope that these discussions will help to provide our tamariki with an awareness of their own and others feelings and prompt kind things we can all do to help others.

We are creating a display of feathers in the hall to help represent these conversations and ideas.  Check it out when you visit on our Matariki evening!!
