ATTENDANCE and LATENESS
The good practice around attendance and punctuality starts at primary school.
Given the requirements of Level 1 and sick children staying away, our average attendance of 93% is fantastic. This is above the national average so - ka rawe (awesome)!
However there are a number of children that slip below 90% attendance. Those families will be receiving a note/email shortly
If your child is absent you must notify the school. The best way is the SchoolApp on your phone.
- Child's name
- Room number or teacher
- Reason for the absence
The reasons for absence can be many and varied so the Ministry of Education provide us with a list of codes that we must use. If you do not notify the school of a reason it defaults to TRUANT.
The graph from our SMS - Student Management System shows all absences across the week days. - it seems Mondayitis might be contagious. Mondays are extremely important for teachers as this day is used to ‘set the week up’.
