Debbie Robertson —

Principal Casebrook Intermediate Te Kura Mariko and Co Leader of Tōtaranui Kāhui Ako

I have worked with Paul for a great number of years. Prior to the Earthquakes in 2011, we were members of a group of four local principals who met regularly and were a great source of support for each other. After the Earthquakes we were joined together with seven local schools to become a Community of Learning and this became Tōtaranui Kāhui Ako.

Paul has always been a very strong advocate for his school community and has over time been able to ensure development meets their specific needs. He is innovative, thoughtful and able to lead change. He is respectful of his staff and ensures their needs are met and development is at a pace that takes everyone with him.

His contributions to the Kāhui Ako have been many, particularly in later years his contribution around Culturally Responsive Practice in the learning setting and school community.

Paul is a highly capable person of integrity and loyalty and his long service has resulted in the community developing a sense of belonging and trust, he will be missed by all.

However, we thank him for his service and wish Paul and his family all the best for the years ahead. Enjoy a well deserved change of pace and I personally will miss the phone calls and coffees.

All the very best.
