Kindness Week and Pink Shirt Day
It was great to see so much pink in the playground last Friday in support of Kindness Day. Kindness is one of our core values at PPS and this message is becoming stronger within our school.
Last week was kindness week. In class we had a focus on being an upstander and looking at ways we can be kind by helping others in need: either when they hurt themselves or sticking up for others when someone has made an unkind choice. We saw more children being inclusive in play and giving compliments.
We gave each child a rock to paint in the theme of kindness to create a collaborative mural for the playground. You will be able to see this over the coming week as we are putting it together and will install it in week 5. Keep an eye out above the blackboard outside the Library for the completed piece. Thanks to Glen for his work on this project.
A big thanks to Isaacs for providing us with the stones.
