Maths Week was established by the New Zealand Association of Mathematics Teachers in 1998. It is a premier event in the school calendar. Recently, it has gained the attention of about 280 000 students, teachers and home educators, and others.

These new people have started their school journey in Pūkeko with us in the last few weeks. We are really happy to welcome you all to our Papanui whānau and hope you make lots of new friends.

Bowen travelled to Dunedin last Friday to participate in the RTR Nationals. The competition was held on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday morning.

This booklet includes lots of Māori vocabulary and simple phrases to do with sporting activities that will help expand and polish your skills in our nation’s unique language. So whether you simply want to ask kei hea te pōro (where’s the ball?) or support your favourite team with a cheer such as Kia Kaha te Kapa Ō Pango (Go hard All Blacks) then this booklet is a great place to start.
