As you will see in this newsletter we've had a busy three weeks at school. This week's sudden change to Level 2 is a reminder that we are living in challenging times.
PLANNING FOR LEVEL 3 or 4
The possibility of moving through the levels is something we will need live with for some time. After reviewing our "Learning at Home" that we provided last year in Level 4 and looking at a range of other reports and reviews we will be making some changes to "Learning at Home".
Seesaw will be our main platform. At school we are refining our use of this and we are looking to build the capability and confidence of our children and families.
In the event of lockdown we are looking to improve our communication with children and parents. We have discussed the use of audioconferencing (eg Zoom) and the pros and cons of using this with young children. We have decided that we cannot recreate group teaching using this platform.
You too can be doing some planning in this area. Making sure that you have a good supply of art materials, crayons, paints, activity books. Check out your supply of board games and puzzles and activities that will provide an alternative to screen time. Also think about how to maintain social connections for your family and your children's friends.
Next week we will be sending home with your child a paper copy of the contact details we have on file. You need to return this signed even if there are no changes.
Next week we will be sending out a SchoolApps alert with a link to a survey - 2021 Pandemic Preparation. You need to complete this to assist in our planning.
