Matariki is officially celebrated on Friday 14th July this year, which is in the school holidays. We are going to celebrate on the last day of this term with a craft afternoon of making lanterns and stars and the junior and senior kapa haka groups will perform. In the morning, the tamariki and staff will make some shared kai (soup) to have alongside their lunch. You are invited to come along from 1.00pm if you would also like to have lunch with your child/children and then join in with the arts and crafts from around 1.30pm to enjoy this with your tamariki.

We would like to welcome these lovely new people to Pūkeko and Papanui Primary School.

We will be holding these learning conferences next term on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th July with interviews starting at 2.15pm going through till 6.45pm each day. Therefore, school will close at 2pm both of these days. Bookings will open early next term so keep an eye out on the School App for your access to book these.

On Tuesday 30th May our team of cross country runners represented Papanui displaying all of our school values.

A huge congratulations to our team! Both Baxter and Zach have qualified for the IRXC2023 (Inter-regional cross country race) with runners from Wellington, Tasman, Canterbury and South Canterbury competing in September.

Our amazing gymnastic crew spent the day on Wednesday 14th June at the Christchurch School of Gymnastics.

Our Fun Run in May this year raised $2240. Thank you all for your amazing support. This money will be used to help subsidise school wide swimming lessons in Term 4.

It's been another busy term for all our tamariki taking part in the Children's University Programme.

It was great to see many parents and whānau members at our information session two weeks ago. There were a few of you who wanted to come but couldn't make it so we thought we would share the slides with you. If you have any further questions regarding any of it, please speak to your child's teacher. There is extra information and videos on our school website to support you at home as well.
