After successfully qualifying at our Elite Swimming Sports on 28th February, a team of 15 Year 5 - 8 students travelled to Jellie Park on Wednesday to compete in the East Zone Swimming sports.

The team of Nate Weastall, Charlie Brown, Teah Morrison, Chloe Lush, Jacinta Hoglund, Alyssa Murch, Kayla Wheeler, Cybella Morrison, Andrew Houghton, Kaea Peawini, McKenzie Walker, Jasmine Matthews-Boot, Sari Webley, Mischa Luton and Olivia Hartley.

All our swimmers competed extremely well amongst some high quality opposition from our neighbouring schools.  We had some great results with Nate, Andrew, Alyssa, Jacinta, Sari and Kayla all making finals.

We have 4 swimmers going through to the Canterbury Primary schools Swim Sports to be held on Thursday 4th April.

Nate Weastall finished 3rd in the final of the Year 5 boys Freestyle (Missing result from last week)

Alyssa Murch won the Yr7 Girls Breaststroke final and finished 3rd in her Freestyle final.

Jacinta Hoglund won the Yr7 Girls Freestyle final.

Kayla Wheeler finished 3rd in her Yr8 Girls Backstroke final.

A huge congratulations to these three swimmers and all the team for their efforts at the Zones. Special thanks to the Parents/Whanau who assisted with transport and supported our athletes during the event.
