Term 3, Week 6

Simon Thomas —

There are a huge amount of activities happening in our school and this week has been full of fun..

This week we had visits from Canterbury Cricket, and Sport Canterbury running games and skills for our junior students. 🏏 Our senior students are at Porters Heights skifield today, enjoying the fresh new powder whilst we endured a cold, indoor play day.😳

Our Kapa Haka roupu are practicing hard for our performance at Horncastle Arena on Thursday night.  They would love to have your support, we are so proud of them! Our Hip Hop and Aerobics teams have also been practicing hard for their competitions on Wednesday.  We have three teams entered this year and they are awesome!  🤸‍♂️

Last night we held our community consultation with our school narrative and building design.  The presentations were really interesting and provided a background to the work our students have been doing this year.  Thank you for coming and showing your support!

In the coming weeks our narrative will be delivered to all whanau, with our new logo and a survey to select our school name.  These names will then be rationalised to a top 3, and a final survey which will be conducted in Term 4 to inform the Board's decision making process.  🐦

This is all designed to coincide with our rebuild project where our narrative, name and logo will be prominently displayed throughout our site.  The new building will begin early in 2019.

We are so looking forward to this project as our roll is growing beyond our capacity.  We are currently at 435 students and will be even larger by the end of the year.  This is exciting for us and it means we desperately need our new building! 🏤

Look out for our narrative in the coming weeks and your chance to have input into our awesome school's future.  Have a lovely weekend!
