The Character of Parkview Pārua School

Parkview - March 11, 2025

Parkview Pārua School is a warm and inclusive place to be as a community focussed full Primary catering to the learning needs of children aged 5 - 13 years (Year 1 - 8 students). Full primaries enable students to develop quality relationships with teachers and this is a key feature of our school.

We have excellent learning environments for all students with teachers collaborating  in teams of two or three. Our learning spaces are all single cell with the ability of work collaboratively in teams.  Parkview Pārua has extensive grounds, playgrounds, two large basketball courts, scooter pump track, an indoor basketball court space and playing field facilities that provide for a range of outdoor learning opportunities and experiences.

We have effective school-wide physical education and sporting programmes.  There is a strong basketball programme with students from Year 3 - 8 all able to participate in competitions with other schools.  We also participate in weekly competitions in winter sports with other schools in football and netball for year 5-8 students.

Our school embraces digital learning and we provide chromebooks for Year 4-8 students.  Ipads are a part of the junior school programme which compliments traditional teaching methods.

There are a range of cultural opportunities for all students ranging from Kapa Haka, Pasifika, Choir, extension programmes such as Epro8 and leadership initiatives etc.

Our Year 7 & 8 intermediate programmes provide a significant range of leadership opportunities across all curricula, sporting and cultural areas.  The learning programmes centre on preparing our students for High School.
