On Tuesday, 42 of our Year 5-8 students competed in athletic events against students from other schools in our Zone.

Mrs Lindley and myself were so proud of all of our students for the way they competed and supported each other; it was a great day out!

A special congratulations goes out to each one of them for qualifying and then having the courage to give it their best and compete in front of a large crowd. 

We also had some students that qualified for the Canterbury Athletics:

• Ben (Year 8 boys) - 3rd shotput, 1st long jump, 1st 100m sprints
• Hunter (Year 8 boys) - 4th 100m sprints
• Jacinta (Year 8 girls) - 1st long jump, 1st 100m sprints
• Perez (Year 8 girls) - 1st discus, 1st shotput
• Leonjay (Year 6 boys) - 1st 80m sprints
• Mika (Year 6 girls) - 2nd discus, 1st high jump, 1st 80m sprints

(Special mention to Elizabeth (Year 6 girls) - 3rd equal in high jump but lost in the jump off for a qualifying place)
