This term we started our inquiry about Change by having a visit from a lady called Maria Romero who is also known as the butterfly lady.  She brought lots of swan plants with her that had some caterpillars on them.  

She taught us about the life cycle of a butterfly.  All of the Pukeko classes have watched their caterpillar change into a chrysalis that then emerges as a beautiful butterfly. All of the Pukeko students have been talking about changes that can happen in our life.  

We have made plans about our worries like: talking to teachers, friends and family.  We’ve practised being mindful by listening to calming music, doing Go-Noodle Flow videos and zentangle art.  We are looking forward to the new classroom block being built and we think we will be able to cope with the changes that are ahead of us.
