Canterbury Swim Champs 2018

Pip Warwick —

This is a recount by Alyssa Murch (Room 15) about representing Parkview School at the Canterbury Swimming Competition.

I made it to the Canterbury’s for swimming. I swam in the  breaststroke ten year old girl’s category. It was at Selwyn pool, I went with Jacinta Hoglund.  We were the only two competitors from Parkview School.

When it was my turn to swim I got nervous, like the last time I was here. But I got over that as soon as I dived in the pool. I had a plan, it was to go slow at the start so you have lots of energy to ZOOM past the others on the final lap and it kind of worked. I came last in my race but they timed you and out of all the the breaststroke race’s I came 24 out of 35.
