Year 7-8 Leadership day

Jack Smith —

Kia Ora School Whanau! 😄 Yesterday the Year 7 and 8's went out to Omaka Camp by bus to take part in Youthtown's Leadership Day.

The Three Classes Rooms 8, 9 and 9a, were split up into three groups.  Activities at Leadership Day  revolved around three areas,  each area having three activities in them. The first area was the Adventure Zone which had Archery, Shelter Building and Tubing, Next was Wet and Wacky which had Paddle-boarding, Puzzle Activities and Water Safety.  Finally Brainteasers and Balancing, which had Outdoor Cooking, Slack lining and Orienteering.

In all of these activities we could earn coins, fake ones of course which, at the end of the day, we would add up and see which singular group had earned the most money.  At the end the group Diamond Dogs, which consisted of Mannaki , Tai, Heidi, Sam, Rose and Jesse had won the competition, winning with a whopping total of over 320 Dollars!

Camp was fun and we got to experience several things that some of us would have never have experienced before. I hope you enjoyed reading this.

Kind regards

Jack Smith
