On Thursday four year sevens and four year eights competed in the annual Cantamath competition!

Every year teams of four compete at the Christchurch arena, this year one year 7 team and one year 8 team competed. 

Each team is given a maths problem and has to work it out. Once they have an answer someone runs it up to a marker, who gives them a new question if they got it right. There were 20 questions in total, each question was worth five points, meaning there were 100 points up for grabs. Both the year 7 and 8 teams got 40 points which placed them at around 40th out of 80.
